IPMAT-IIM Rohtak-2020 : Overview

IPMAT IIM ROHTAK Analysis mba entrance exam preparation Brief Overview And Paper Analysis IPMAT- IIM Rohtak-2020 was different from the 2019 version of IPMAT for IIM Rohtak. One reason for the same was because of COVID 19, there was a change in the examination pattern as compared to previous year. The other reason for the same was that even the exam dates had been changed a few times because of the prevailing uncertainity. IPMAT- IIM ROHTAK – 2020 Brief Overview And Paper Analysis Unlike a 120 Question, 120 minute test of last year, this year the test comprised of three sections but the number of questions was reduced to a two section test as per the following details:

The first section had 60 questions to be answered in 45 minutes. The details of the first section are as under:

  • Quantitative Ability (QA) – 20 Questions
  • Verbal Ability (VA) and  – 20 questions
  • Logical Reasoning (LR)- 20 Questions

The second Section was a Written Ability Test (WAT)  which students had to attempt after a gap of 15 minutes. The duration for the written ability test was 30 minutes.

However, the most surprising aspect of the exam  IPMAT- IIM ROHTAK – 2020 was, that it was conducted on google forms and was an open book, open notes and open material exam. But, given the short duration of the test, the candidates would not have had the time to go through any notes.

The students were allowed 45 minutes for the aptitude test and 30 minute for the written ability test. Given below is the break up and overview of the test

Quantitative Aptitude

The quantitative aptitude section was very easy and had 20 questions in all.  Speed and accuracy would have been the most important factors in clearing the section. There were questions from time and distance, simple interest, average and percentages, permutations and combinations,  and calculations. Students could have attempted around 15 questions easily. Logical Reasoning  

It was the easiest among the three easy sections.  Questions that appeared in the exam were from arrangements, blood relations, Series, syllogisms, coding decoding, analogies, directions and statement conclusions. There was a good mix of all questions. But, the section was too simple. Students could have attempted more than 15 questions. The break up of the section is as follows IPMAT IIM ROHTAK Analysis

Verbal Ability

IPMAT- IIM Rohtak :2020  WAT ( Written Ability Test)

Normally this section is conducted with the PI. For the first time it was conducted on the same day as the Aptitude Test. This section had two essays to be written in 30 minutes. The essays had a word limit of 250 words. The topics given were related to IPMAT IIM ROHTAK Analysis
